Tokyo International Anime Fair
The Tokyo International Anime Fair 2009, one of the largest anime related events worldwide, opened at Tokyo Big Sight on March 18th. March 18th and 19th are designates as Business days and the 20th and 21st are designated as Public days. Visitors were wandering around browsing booths to get the latest anime information and pointing their cameras at staff wearing costumes of anime characters, who gladly posed for photographs.

東京国際アニメフェア
東京ビッグサイトで18日よりはじまった世界最大級のアニメ総合イベント「東京国際アニメフェア2009」。18日、19日はビジネスデー、20日21日がパブリックデー。来場者は思い思いにブースを回り、アニメの最新情報を収集し、アニメのコスチュームを着たスタッフにカメラを向けていた。

FOODEX JAPAN was opened at Makuhari Messe, Chiba Prefecture, on March 3rd, 2009. FOODEX JAPAN is an annual event for food & beverage professionals, which is one of the largest such events in Asia. This year 2,393 food-related companies participate in the event from 58 countries and regions in the world including Japan. The 4-day trade fair is expected to draw 90,000 visitors. (Note: Admission is limited to those who are related to the food industry.) A number of visitors from overseas could be seen in the venue and the Japanese food on display attracted their attention. 3月3日、千葉・幕張メッセで、「FOODEX JAPAN」が開幕した。「FOODEX JAPAN」は、アジア最大級の食品や飲み物の展示会で、日本をはじめ世界59の国と地域から2,393社の食品関連企業が出展し、4日間で9万人の関係者の来場が見込まれている(一般の入場は不可)。会場では海外からの来場者の姿も数多く見られ、日本の食材への質問も相次いでいた。(2009/3/4)

The Louvre Museum Exhibition

This exhibition shows 71 paintings, including ones by great European masters such as Rembrandt, Velazquez, Vermeer, Rubens, Poussin and La Tour as well as other masterpieces of the 17th century in the collection of the Louvre Museum. The 17th century is known as the “Golden Century” in European art.

17世紀ヨーロッパは「黄金の世紀」と呼ばれ、レンブラント、ペラスケス、フェルメール、ルーベンス、プッサン、ラ・トゥールといった、綺羅星のごとき画家を数多く輩出しました。本展ではこれらの画家の作品をはじめ、ルーヴル美術館が誇る17世紀絵画の傑作の数々71点が展示されます。
