The unique classical music festival La Folle Journé, which began in France in 1995, first came to Tokyo, Japan in 2005 and this year marks the sixth version of the event. This is one of the largest classical music festivals in Japan. During the festival, about 350 concerts and events including free ones and charged ones, take place, and top musicians from all over the world perform from morning until night. The theme for 2012 is "Le Sacre Russe," the Russian Festival in French. The pieces performed will be from the masters of Russia classical music who created the new trend of innovative and spiritual music in turbulent Russia from the 19th century down to the present.
